I'm afraid this piece has a tragic story......
Out of all the CLAMP titles, RG Veda was my favorite aesthetic-wise because of all of the beautiful detail. I've drawn Ashura here and there, but I wanted to truly pay homage to the beauty that was this series. Therefore, I embarked on a journey to make one final, glorious fanart.
Unfortunately... after I finished inking the entire thing (and this is only 60% of the scan - they are actually centered and there is more billowing cloth on the right) I suddenly lost the will to finish it. Burnt out on the lineart? Too tired to go on? Who knows...
I also drew it on crappy marker paper... what an utter and devastating waste (and since that moment I never drew on crappy paper again.)
In order to preserve the original, I carefully scanned it in sections (the original is something like 15" x 19") and printed out a few copies to do some color tests on, and this was one of them.
Anyway... tragic. So much effort for something I may never even finish. However, I am considering on tracing it over with some... uh... better controlled line mileage, and trying again.
(Thanks for reading this far. XD)

I would love to see the finished product. This is beautiful. You should definitely finish.
